Carers Course

The Carer’s Course is a one-day workshop offering information and practical skills for carers of individuals with a serious illness or disability.

Attendees learn how to improve the quality of life for himself or herself and the relative or friend in the caring relationship.

Many people in the community have a responsibility as the carer, this role can be particularly demanding.  Carers may be required to develop new skills and faced with complex new information that can often make a person feel unprepared and isolated. Conducted in a supportive group environment to encourage the sharing of experiences, coping strategies and develop.

Trained facilitators provide expert advice and practical skills for the role as a carer, topics discussed include:

  • Effective Communication
  • Managing Medication, Pain and Symptoms
  • Practical Aspects
  • Nutrition and Exercise
  • Complementary Integrated Therapies
  • And Self Care
